Anom Sobrat is the son of the famous artist, Anak Agung Gde Sobrat. He was born in Padang Tegal Ubud, 1940. He learned to paint from his father ever since he was elementary school. Later, he took an art study in Institut Keguruan Ilmu Pendidik (IKIP) in Denpasar. Even tough the atmosphere of modern art is the mainstream of the campus, Anom's persistently doing traditional work as he continues his father's legacy in art world. Though he evidently presents his own signature to his art.
His works could be found among the collections of Neka Museum-Ubud, Arma Museum-Ubud and also collected by various private collectors from Belgium, Netherland, German, Australia and USA.
