Born in Padang Tegal, Ubud, in 1917 and died 1984, He learned painting from Anak Agung Gede Sobrat when he entered the Pita Maha organization, led by Walter Spies and Rudolf Bonnet. Most of his works featured the wayang stories. His works often exhibited in Bali since 1950s and in 1984, several of them was displayed in Sidney, Australia. His works are among the collections of Museum Puri Lukisan (Ubud), Neka Museum (Ubud), Taman Budaya (Denpasar), and Museum fur Voolkenkunde (basel).
