  About Artist Han Snell

Han Snel (1925-1998; Scheveningen, Holland) was trained as a graphic artist. Sent to Indonesia in 1946 as a soldier to fight against the nationalists, he defected to their side. Snel lived in Bali since 1950 and was an Indonesian citizen. His graphic paintings featured stylized women in rich colors, as well as geometric abstractions. Exhibition: Itoh Gallery (Tokyo, Japan, 1965).
