Born in Batuan during the year of 1935. He learned painting at the age of 25. Aside of his late start, he was compensated it with intensive lesson from I Made Djata, the famous Batuan painter. However, his paintings are among the important collections of numerous institutions, including Arma Museum (Ubud). Most of Barak's works were done with watercolours on paper. His theme depicted around Balinese extensive rituals such as mecaru, the ritual prior to the celebration of Saka New Year or the seclusion day.
