Born in Peliatan, Ubud, 1942. His works illustrating the daily life of Bali where admittedly influenced by Rudolf Bonnet's thought. The Dutch Painter taught that, according to him, Balinese art did not ought to reflect merely upon religious themes. Through this lesson, Darmana then choose to paint te peasant life as seen in Ubud. Farmer, rumpun padi shrubs of paddy, sapi pembajak sawah cultivating cows, ducks and coconut trees are among his favourite themes. He joined various collective exhibitions in and outside of the country. Among them was the exhibition of Gianyar Painter 2005 organized by Gallery YDBA (Yayasan Dharma Bakti Astra)
