About Artist I Nyoman Mandra
 He is renowned Kamasan style painter. Hr was born 1946 in Sangging, Kamasan in Klungkung. Since nine, he became an orphan. His father, Wayan Kepeng, and mother, Ni Ketut Kireg, died when he was young. By the age of six, he had already shown a great talent by doodling wayang on the wall. Under the guides of his uncles, I Nyoman Dogol and I Nengah Numbreg, he learned to use canvas as his medium. At rhar rime he was only ten. He than advanced his learning on epic Ramayana and Mahabrata from painter I Wayan Lenged. After graduating junior High School in 1961, he was considered as an existing wayang painter in traditional Kamasan style. In 1973, he gave painting lesson to the youngsters. Within a short period, Mandra had more than 100 pupils. All under the institution of Sanggar Lukis Tradisional Gaya Kamasan. His works have already been exhibited in Netherlands, Germany, Japan and others countries. In Indonesia, his paintings were displayed in Taman Budaya Abiankapas (Bali), Japan Foundation Centre (Jakarta), and Taman Ismail Marzuki (jakarta). He received an award from ASRI Yogyakartan, Klungkung Polise, and Dharma Kusuma Madya from Bali Provincial Government. I Nyoman Arcana who received several medals from Japan and India Madra’s paintings adorned houses of art collectors and government buildings. Some of his paintings – 150 x 200 cm in size – have been displayed in Unesco building in Paris and notable hotels in Bali.
