Born in Tebesaya, Ubud, in 1941. His elementary school was completed in 1955. Since then he started to painting under guidance of I Ketut Djodjol for eight years. His works frequently illustrate fragment from mythology and folk tales. Among them is Rajapala, the story of seven fairies who visited the earth and the bathe in a fountain. In Java, he similar folk tale is known as Joko Tarub. Other subject of his paintings is the daily life of the Balinese farmer, including the farmer ngangon his poultries. His work is sophisticated and complex. His paintings have been exhibited several times in Jakarta.
