His works are fascinating but limited in its number. Since he is not only famous as a painter but also as a village leader, a job that befell upon him since 1978. He was born in Peliatan-Ubud 1945. His mentor was I Wayan Turun from Tebesaya who tutored him for eleven years since 1959. His fellow painters were Wayan Deras and Gusti Ngurah Sarjana. Most of his paintings mostly illustrate the Balinese market scene, legong dancer and other activities of art performances.
