I Made Sumadiyasa

I Made Sumadiyasa (1971- ; Langlanglinggah, Tabanan, Bali), better known as Made, studied at the Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI, Indonesia Institute of the Arts) in Yogyakarta, Central Java. His abstract expressionistic works show the universal aspects of Balinese culture and philosophy. He focuses on movement and color to bring out the spiritual essence of his subject.

Made was the first Indonesian Artist invited to participate in the prestigious Art Asia international fine arts exhibition held in Hong Kong in 1995. Award: McDonald's Mataram Award (ISI, Yogyakarta, 1994). Exhibitions: Museum Nasional (Jakarta, Indonesia, 1995), Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center (1995), Center for Strategic and International Studies (Jakarta, 1996), Indonesia-Japan Friendship Festival (Morioka, Tokyo, 1997), Bamboo Gallery, Komaneka Fine Art Gallery, Neka Art Museum (Ubud, Bali, 1998).
