About Artist I Dewa Nyoman Tjita
 Tjita was born in Batuan, 1927. He is the third son of nine children. His father is I Dewa Putu Kebes, a renowned painter who also producing topeng celuluk and bondres. By the age of seven, he already painted and carved the palaces under his father's supervision. Through this, his interest in painting has grown. Therfore his early works dominately illustrate Kamasan style of wayang paintings. In his 20s, he started to paint in Batuan style. At first, he would paint the wayang theme but then his object shifted to the Balinese daily scene of temple's ritual and gamelan player. Like his father, Tjita also carveds mask and sculpture, natah wayang, does the woodcarving and plays the classic gambuh. Though never studied in any school, Tjita reads and writes in Balinese. He has - together with the Pita Maha association. Aside from bali, he also exhibited his works various exhibitions from Jakarta to the Netherlands. His earlier works were in black and white, but later he also uses other colours for his paintings.
